The Shelby County Western Riders 2026 Open Speed Shows feature a series of speed events including barrels and poles, with shows starting at 4 PM on various dates.

Fees

  • Office Fee$2per horse/rider combo

Payback & added money

Ribbons to 5 places, 50% payback to 3 places, must be 5 in class for payback. Dash for Cash (Payback to Winner Only). $100 added money if 25 or more entries.

Pee Wee classes - Ribbons only.

Entries

All entries must be received at least one class prior to the one in which you would like to compete. No refunds for scratches or withdrawals. There will be a strict 2 minute gate call from the start of the class- exhibitors not ready within 2 minutes will forfeit their entry. All riders need to be ready by the gate.

Rules

No striking horses in front of cinch. Rider may not be attached to the saddle with velcro, straps, or any other type of attachments. All animals must be treated humanely on club grounds. All ponies and donkeys must have appropriated sized riders while on the grounds. All dogs must be kept on a leash and cleaned up after. Exhibitors must wear shirt with sleeves, long pants, and boots in all classes. No tank tops or halter tops in classes. Announcer's decision is final. Helpers are allowed in the arena to assist riders. SCWR reserves the right to combine or eliminate classes as necessary. SCWR not responsible for accidents or theft.
